The Review of Qualifications in Wales made 42 separate recommendations for reforming the qualifications system.
From September 2015, key general qualifications have been amended to address the Review’s recommendations, with full implementation due to be complete by September 2017.
A reformed Welsh Baccalaureate has also been in place since September 2015 with strong encouragement from the Welsh Government that this qualification should be adopted in all relevant settings.
This process of qualifications reform has increased risks of excessive workload burdens in schools.
The Union’s action short of strike action instructions are in place to protect you from deteriorations in your working conditions. Further help and advice in making use of the instructions is available from the NASUWT.
