The United Nations' International Day of Peace is a global day when individuals, communities, nations and governments highlight efforts to end conflict and promote peace.

World Teachers’ Day
A day to celebrate teachers and the central role they play in guiding children, youths and adults through the life-long learning process. Over 100 countries celebrate World Teachers’ Day.

World Day for Decent Work
Campaigning for every person to have a job that enables them to live a good life in which their basic needs are met. Activities focus on: rights at work, solidarity, and ending poverty.
9th November
International Day Against Fascism and Anti-Semitism
To commemorate the past and to protest against contemporary forms of fascism and anti-Semitism. November 9th 1938 was the date when the Nazis started the pogrom against the Jews which came to be known as the "Kristallnacht".

Universal Children’s Day
Universal Children's Day is observed as a day of worldwide fraternity and understanding between children as well as a day of activity devoted to promoting the welfare of the children of the world.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women
An opportunity to organise activities to raise public awareness of the problem of violence against women and to continue to campaign against the problem. The White Ribbon Campaign seeks to ensure men take more responsibility for reducing the level of violence against women.

World Aids Day
World AIDS Day is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection.

Human Rights Day
This date marks the adoption of the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights and provides an opportunity to explore and learn more about human rights.

International Migrants Day
The day provides an opportunity for individuals and organisations discuss the human rights and fundamental freedoms of migrants, to share experiences and to ensure their protection.

Holocaust Memorial Day
The day of remembrance for the victims of the Holocaust and of other genocides, it commemorates victims, honours survivors and commits to tackling prejudice, discrimination and racism.

International Women’s Day
International Woman's Day is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women. The TUC believes that it should be a public holiday.

Workers Memorial Day
Every year more people are killed at work than in wars. They die because an employer decided their safety just wasn't that important a priority. Workers’ Memorial Day commemorates those workers.

Labour Day is celebrated all over the world to recognise the economic and social achievements of workers and advance the cause of workers’ rights.

The International Day Against Homophobia, (IDAHO) offers an opportunity for promote action against homophobia.
