Local Associations and Federations will need to elect and register their Elected Representatives to Annual Conference 2017 by Friday, 03 March 2017.

Timetable

This year the National Union will be supporting the process of nomination for Elected Representatives.

A Checklist has been prepared showing the process needed to be followed.

By 30 September 2016 Local Associations will need to inform the National Union by email to conferencesandevents@mail.nasuwt.org.uk of the number of Elected Representative places being funded and confirm in that email that these places were agreed in a Local Association budget approved at a quorate meeting. 

In the week beginning 10 October 2016 the National Union will send a calling notice for nominations to all members with a closing date of 6 January 2017.

Between 10 October 2016 and the closing date of 6 January 2017, Local Associations may wish to encourage members to be nominated for Conference. A template letter is available should they want to use it.

In week beginning 9 January 2017, the National Union will notify Local Associations of the names of nominees.
If Local Associations wish to fill any remaining places they will need to do so at a quorate meeting and provide the names of those elected and the following documents by email to conferencesandevents@mail.nasuwt.org.uk or by post to Conferences and Events, NASUWT, Hillscourt, Rose Hill, Rednal, Birmingham B45 8RS:

i)      Calling notice issued at the beginning of the year to all members (or the one for this meeting),
ii)      agenda
iii)     attendance list for the meeting
iv)     the completed Declaration of Elected Representatives 2017
v)      a completed ER1 form providing details of the Elected Representatives.

These documents will need to be received by the National Union by 2 March 2017.
