Members of the NASUWT are able to self-assess their wellbeing at work using the Union’s online Wellbeing at Work facility.
The Union offers National Executive Members (NEMs), Local Secretaries and Accredited Caseworkers a summary of the responses within a specific workplace. The PDF report will:
(i) identify areas of common concern;
(ii) provide an anonymous evidence base of members views to present to school leaders.
To take advantage of this facility, please follow the procedure below:
- Ensure that the membership list for the school or college is up to date. NEMs, Local Secretaries and Accredited Caseworkers can review membership lists using the Union’s e-membership facility. It is essential that the list is accurate otherwise the audit report will be incomplete.
- Confirm the numeric Workplace Code from the e-membership system. Members must quote this as the "workplace code" when completing the survey.
- Determine whether you wish to invite non-members to take part.
- Encourage members at the school or college to complete the wellbeing questionnaire. Publicity for this must be arranged locally.
- Specify a start and finish date. We recommend allowing one or two weeks to complete the audit, ending on a Friday.
- Email wellbeing@mail.nasuwt.org.uk with the following information:
- the name and address of the school or college where members will self-assess their wellbeing;
- the period during which members will undertake their self-assessment.
Summary wellbeing reports will be generated as PDF documents on the first working day of each week, and sent via email.
The addition of this workplace audit facility adds a powerful organising tool for Executive Members, Local Secretaries and Accredited Caseworkers seeking to address issues within specific workplaces.
