The Union also works with the TUC and the TUC Women's Committee on gender equality in the workplace and wider society. The NASUWT has two national executive representatives on the TUC Women's Committee.
TUC Womens' Conference 2016
The Conference this year is being held held on 9-11 March 2016 at Congress House in London.The NASUWT has submitted two motions to conference for 2016, 'Flexible Working' and 'the Refugee Crisis'.
Chainmakers Festival
The NASUWT is a supporter of the TUC Women Chainmakers Festival which celebrates the achievements of 800 or so women chainmakers in the Black Country who fought to establish their right to a minimum wage.This dispute was an important step towards establishing a National Minimum Wage - finally achieved in 1989. More information about the festival can be found here. The event will be held at Bearmore Park, Cradley Heath.
Age Immaterial, Women Over 50 in the Workplace
In 2014, the TUC published a report looking at the issues faced by women aged over 50 in the workplace. More women over the age of 50 are working than ever before but are still struggling to get a fair deal in the workplace.Low pay, discrimination, the pressures of juggling caring responsibilities and paid work and difficult accessing training are the key issues facing older women at work.

How to engage girls - a link to the 'People like me' project
People Like Me is a revolutionary resource for teachers, STEM ambassadors, careers advisors and others working with young people to show girls that people just like them are happy and successful working in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
WISE are offering training for individuals wishing to be supported in the delivery of the People Like Me resources. The training will guide individuals to be able to offer effective outreach to girls in terms of language and approach. It will also equip individuals with the People Like Me resources.
These training sessions will be held in London, Bristol and Leeds early in 2016; please follow the links to book onto the events.

Violence against Women
The NASUWT is a supporter of Reclaim the Night, the national, annual march and rally which affirms women's rights to use public spaces without fear.
Reclaim The Night gives women a voice and is an empowering event. The march gives women one night when they can feel safe to walk the streets of their own towns and cities.
Events are held around the country, but the dates are yet to be announced.
NASUWT will support and publicise the events as soon as dates are available.
